Scottish Alt-Rock legends, Teenage Fanclub, have confirmed the release of their tenth studio album ‘Here’ on 9th September. The album is to be released on the band owned PeMa label and follows up 2010’s acclaimed ‘Shadows’.
The album announcement was accompanied with upbeat lead single ‘I’m in love’, available for streaming on the band’s Bandcamp page. The band also released the full track listing from the album which, as expected, includes the band’s signature 12 songs allowing each founding member to take a lead on four .
Teenage Fanclub formed in 1989 and released their raucous debut in 1990 to overall positive reviews in the UK and further afield. The next year and next album, Bandwagonesque, saw the start of the band’s ascent to commercial success beating Nevermind, Screamadelica and Loveless to take the title of Spin magazine’s album of the year.
The band continued their success story releasing albums through the nineties to the present day all of which receiving an overwhelmingly positive response from fans and critics alike. The band has also received praise from big names such as Liam Gallagher and Kurt Cobain who called them “the best band in the world”. High praise indeed and something fans hope this upcoming release will live up to.
To round out the release an extensive UK tour has been announced in support of the new album boasting 20 dates across the country. The tour has already sold out six dates including two London and two Glasgow shows. Tickets and album pre orders are available via the Teenage Fanclub website.
