Jamie Vardy breaks PL record

Jamie Vardy’s first half goal for Leicester City against Manchester United during the two teams’ 1-1 draw has handed him a new Premier League record. The goal, his 11th goal in as many games, has put him ahead of Ruud van Nistelrooy as the first Premier League player to score in 11 consecutive matches.

Vardy’s total of 14 goals, have helped to propel Leicester – who struggled to beat relegation last season – to second in the league, level on points with leaders Manchester City. Much of this success has been attributed to Vardy’s exploits, something fans and players alike have taken to social media to celebrate.
